2020 CABA Student Poster Session Revamped into Online Format
Up until this year, the Community Applications of Behavior Analysis (CABA) Poster Session meant an opportunity for ABA Master’s ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps to gather and display their practicum case studies in a professional presentation setting. ABA faculty would review and provide input as other faculty, staff and ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps would visit to learn more about the current studies being conducted by the ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps.
This year, the Covid-19 Crisis required the annual poster session to be revamped into an online format. Through video conferencing, each ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp had a 15 minute opportunity to present their case studies highlighting their clinical work or self-management projects and ABA faculty members and doctoral ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps evaluated their posters. Other ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps in the group were also able to provide feedback and ask questions.
“Although I'm sure the ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps missed the social aspect of dressing professionally, getting together and sharing case studies in person, they adapted very well to the virtual setting and were glad to still have the opportunity to showcase their work," said Dr. Catia Cividini-Motta, ABA Instructor and Practicum Coordinator. "I split up the class into three groups and had concurrent meetings with a different faculty member and doctoral ÅÝܽÊÓƵapp in each meeting."
A total of 16 ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps presented their work.
"Congratulations to Dr. Cividini-Motta and the second year ABA master's ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps in her Practicum Seminar class for their excellent online CABA poster session," said ABA Program Director Dr. Raymond Miltenberger. "The ÅÝܽÊÓƵapps did a fantastic job and the poster session went off with out a hitch."
