CSE celebrated its annual Week of Welcome event for undergraduate ܽƵapps new to USF with over 200 ܽƵapps attending the event. CSE ܽƵapp organizations demoed their projects and invited ܽƵapps to their meetings. CSE ܽƵapp organizations at WoW included WICSE, Whitehatters, SCP, Robobulls, IEEE-CS, GameDev, and ACM. Students who checked-out a minimum of four ܽƵapp organizations got free pizza and a T-shirt, in addition to getting to talk with faculty and graduate ܽƵapps about whether CSE was right for them.
“The week of welcome event was super fun! I got to meet a lot of different people from many different majors and career paths. I also got the chance to talk to the leadership from the other computer science clubs and learn about what they're doing this semester.” said Kevin Merrill, President of the USF GameDev Club. “There were so many ܽƵapps who visited the Society of Competitive Programmers booth that each of our board members were utilized at the event. We expect SCP meetings to be packed for the semester thanks to the WOW event!” said Chloe Berry, President of the Society of Competitive Programmers.
This event was made possible with funding from the Computing Partners Program.
