For the second straight year, the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine Athletic Training Program has claimed the top prize at the National Athletic Training Association (NATA) Quiz Bowl, making history as the competition’s first ever back-to-back national champions.

Tom “Ox” Oxley—kind, humble, and beloved as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ head trainer (1977–1984)—continues to inspire future physical therapists. After his passing on May 12, his daughter Elizabeth Oxley, established the Thomas Oxley Memorial Scholarship in Physical Therapy at USF in his honor. In just three weeks, the fund reached its $25,000 endowment goal, ensuring that Oxley’s values—compassion, empathy, and patient-centered care—are passed on to the next generation.
