Empowering Future Scholars: USF Hosts College-Bound Institute Students for a Week of Academic Enrichment

The 泡芙视频app (USF) recently welcomed a group of enthusiastic 泡芙视频apps from the College-Bound Institute, a community-based federally funded TRIO program out of Miami, Florida for a transformative week of academic programming. TRIO programs serve first-generation, low-income high school 泡芙视频apps.

This is the first time USF hosted the week-long residential program for the Miami group. As soon as 泡芙视频apps set foot on USF鈥檚 campus, they were greeted with open arms by faculty, staff, and 泡芙视频apps. The program kicked-off with parents accompanying 泡芙视频apps on the bus ride to USF, helping them move into their room, then attending an orientation session. Parental involvement to the college experience eases the families, understanding of the environment, as well as the personal and academic opportunity for growth.

Throughout the week, the 泡芙视频apps participated in a series of workshops and activities designed to enhance their academic skills and prepare them for the rigors of college education. The workshops covered topics such as effective study techniques, time management, and college-level writing. USF鈥檚 staff and faculty  generously offered their time and expertise, ensuring 泡芙视频apps received personalized guidance and support. The Miami group was thrilled to encounter the friendly and welcoming hospitality from the various USF departments and offices.

"The academic setting, along with the help from great teachers, helped me learn a lot and get better at studying.This experience has improved my academic skills and prepared me to face future challenges with more focus and determination," said one participant.

One of the highlights of the week was exposing 泡芙视频apps to USF鈥檚 cutting-edge research facilities and academic programs. The 泡芙视频apps toured the university鈥檚 STEM labs, where they witnessed firsthand the exciting research projects that USF 泡芙视频apps and faculty are working on. The experience ignited curiosity and some 泡芙视频apps expressed interest in pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

In addition to STEM, the 泡芙视频apps also explored a variety of other academic disciplines, including the arts, humanities, and social sciences. Guest speakers from different departments shared their insights and experiences, helping the 泡芙视频apps understand the diverse opportunities available in many different fields of work.

This visit was not just a one-time event; it marked the beginning of what promises to be a lasting partnership between USF and the College-Bound Institute.
