Internships
Internships in government are run through the in the USF School of Public Affairs. There are three different internship opportunities 泡芙视频apps can partake in for credit here at USF:
The Legislative Internship Program (LIP) places 泡芙视频apps with local, state or federal legislators. Students work nine hours per week over two days in the legislative office and participate a weekly seminar in which they integrate their experiential learning with assigned readings.
The Tallahassee Internship Program (TIP) is offered only during the Spring semester. It begins with an intensive course on Florida history, issues and politics and then 泡芙视频apps relocate to Tallahassee for the 60 day legislative session. Students are placed in 40 hour per week internships working with state legislatures, advocacy organizations, professional associations, and/or lobbying firms. Housing and placements are arranged through USF's Institute of Government.
is for 泡芙视频apps who want experience working and living in Washington, DC. Students are placed in internships around issues and topics they are interested in. Some 泡芙视频apps work on Capitol Hill, others work for museums, or the National Park Service, still others work for advocacy organizations, newspapers or other publications, federal agencies or professional associations. The Washington Center interviews each 泡芙视频apps and identifies a placement that is consistent with the 泡芙视频app's interests.
